AS04

AS04 ist ein Adjuvans, welches in der Arzneimittelherstellung als pharmazeutischer Hilfsstoff eingesetzt wird. Es besteht aus einem Komplex, der sich aus einem Aluminiumsalz und Monophosphoryl-Lipid A (MPL) zusammensetzt.[1] Es wird diskutiert, dass das MPL in AS04 über eine Aktivierung des Toll-like-Rezeptors TLR4 gezielt die zytotoxischen T-Zellen aktiviert, ohne jedoch weitere Entzündungszellen zu aktivieren.[1] Dadurch wird eine verstärkte Immunantwort ausgelöst, die hilft Impf-Antigene einzusparen. Zur Zeit wird AS04 im Hepatitis B-Impfstoff Fendrix® (EU-Zulassung, in den Niederlanden im Handel) und im HPV-Impfstoff Cervarix® eingesetzt, der gegen die humanen Papillomviren 16 und 18 wirksam ist.
