Alexander Monro II. (* 22. Mai oder 10. März 1733 in Edinburgh; † 2. Oktober 1817 ebenda) war ein schottischer Anatom.

Leben[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Monro war Professor an der University of Edinburgh, wo er ab 1750 Medizin studiert hatte. 1783 wurde er zum Mitglied (Fellow) der Royal Society of Edinburgh gewählt.[1] Ab 1804 war er auswärtiges und ab 1812 Ehrenmitglied der Preußischen Akademie der Wissenschaften.[2]
