Sinopec (chin. 中国石化, Zhōngguó Shíhuà, engl. China Petroleum & Chemical Corporation) ist ein chinesisches Erdgas- und Mineralölunternehmen mit Sitz in Peking. Das Unternehmen ist im Hang Seng Index gelistet. ISIN: CN0005789556
Sinopec gehört zu den drei größten Mineralölunternehmen in China und steht 2006 an der Spitze der Top-500-Unternehmen-Liste Chinas. [1]
Das Unternehmen erschließt Erdgas- und Erdölvorkommen weltweit, besitzt Raffinerien und vermarktet seine petrochemischen Produkte.
Im Februar 2002 schloss Unipec, ein Tochterunternehmen von Sinopec einen Vertrag mit dem französischen Unternehmen Total Gabun. Durch diesen Vertrag kaufte China erstmals Erdöl aus Gabun.[2]
Ein Tochterunternehmen von Sinopec ist Shanghai Petrochemical, das im Aktienindex SSE 50 gelistet ist.
Sinopec war bis einschließlich 2008 Hauptsponsor des Formel 1-Rennens in Shanghai.
