The acronym geNOps stands for genetically encoded Nitric Oxide probes[1], a novel class of single fluorescent protein based Nitric Oxide (NO) reporters for live cell imaging of NO in individual cells[2]. geNOps are available in three different colours including cyan (ECFP), green (EGFP), and orange (mKusabira2) variants either non-targeted cytosolic[3], or targeted to the mitochondrial lumen[4].
