English: An F-16D jet of 109 Squadron "The Valley" from Ramat David Airbase crashed in front of the shores of Atlit. At the end of a routine night patrol in Lebanon, the plane turned south, towards Hoof Bonim, to perform a detection exercise and intercept an enemy helicopter. A few minutes before eight o'clock in the evening, about ten seconds after the last contact was made with the plane's crew, the plane plunged into the sea.
