Diese Liste der Sites of Special Scientific Interest in Dorset nennt die in Dorset, England als Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) ausgewiesenen Naturschutzgebiete. Natural England ist zuständig für die Ausweisung von SSSIs In England. Gründe für die Einrichtung einer SSSI sind Fauna und Flora sowie geologische oder physiogeographische Objekte.[1] 2012 waren innerhalb von Dorset 139 Stätten ausgewiesen, 103 davon wegen der biologischen Bedeutung, 20 wegen ihrer geologischen Bedeutung und 16 aus beiden Gründen.[2]

Natural England trat im Oktober 2006 bei der Ausweisung und Verwaltung der SSSIs die Nachfolge von English Nature an, als English Nature sowie Teile der Countryside Agency und des Rural Development Service zusammengefasst wurden. Natural England verwendet dabei wie sein Vorgänger die 1974–1996 geltende Grafschaftseinteilung.[3] Die Angaben in der Tabelle sind den jeweiligen citation sheets von English Nature entnommen.[4]
