  • 13. Juni: Randy Travis’ Song Forever and Ever, Amen ist der erste Song seit dem September 1985, der mehr als zwei Wochen auf Platz 1 der Charts verbringt.
  • September — Dolly Parton erhält eine eigene Fernsehshow: Dolly. Trotz eines viel versprechenden Starts und hohem Zuschauerinteresse wurde die Show von der Kritik verrissen. Nach einem ständigen Rückgang der Zuschauerzahlen wurde die Serie 1988 eingestellt.[1]
