Text Appearing Before Image:
Lord, come and see. Jesus wept. Then the Jews, whenthey saw him weeping, said, See how he loved him. And some of them asked,Could not this man, who opened the eyes of the blind have saved Lazarus fromdying? Jesus came to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone was rolled to themouth of it. Jesus said, Take away the stone. Martha, the sister of Lazarus, saidto him, Lord, by this time his body is decayed, for he has been dead four days.Jesus answered her, Did I not tell thee that if thou wouldst believe in me, thoushouldst see how great Gods power is? Then they took away the stone. Now the Jews, when they buried their dead, wrapped the body in linen andtied up the head in a napkin. So they had buried Lazarus. And after the stonewas taken away from the mouth of the cave, Jesus cried with a loud voice,Lazarus, come forth. Then he that was dead came forth, with his hands andfeet bound in grave-clothes, and his face bound around with a napkin. Jesus saidto them, Loose him, and let him go. 256

JESUS BRINGS FORTH LAZARUS ALIVE PROM THE TOMB. 2r»7 St. John XI. 44. The Paeable of the Peodigal Son. JESUS spoke a parable, saying, There was a man who had two sons; and theyounger one said to his father, Father, give me my share of the richeswhich thou hast laid up for thy children. And his father gave him hisshare. Not many days after, the younger son took all that he had and wentaway into a far country, and there wasted what his father had given him, among wicked companions. When he had spent all, there came a great faminein that land and he began to want bread to eat. And he went and hired him-self to a man of that country, who sent him out into his fields to feed swine. After he had suffered awhile, he said to himself, In my fathers house, athome, how many hired servants there are who have plenty to eat, and morethan they want, while I stay here starving with hunger. I will arise and go tomy father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against God and donewickedly to thee
