- Hallo Nolispanmo, gut ich dachte zwar, dass meine Begrüßungen nicht als "automatisiert" herüberkommen. Aber wenn es anscheinend zu viele bei den neu angemeldeten Benutzern waren, dann soll das nicht mehr vorkommen. Obwohl es ja nur ein paar allgemeine Anmerkungen zum Start sein sollten, da Wikipedia für Neulinge doch schon recht unübersichtlich sein kann. Help - translation into German
Hello EvDa13 - and thank you for offering to help me (on my personal Discussion-page, in May 2010).
I need a German translation of the following paragraph - (i.e., the part between the solid horizontal lines) - and would be really grateful if you could provide one: __________________________________
It has therefore been argued [Also, die Ansicht wird vertreten dass ...] that Spengler believed that the Western High Culture's final, "Caesaristic" [cäsaristische] phase was destined to be fulfilled under German domination; Germany's defeat in the two World Wars has therefore prevented that transition from taking place. Spengler did of course warn that Hitler was not the right man to guide Europe into the preliminary stages of Caesarism [Cäsarismus]; he thought that Hitler would badly mishandle the whole process. ___________________________________
Although I can often read German (with the help of a dictionary alongside me !) - I cannot really write it without incurring a lot of errors. Nevertheless, the portions enclosed in square brackets [...] in the above paragraph for translation, are (i) to try [?] and clarify my use of the English word 'argue' in this particular context, and (ii) to translate the somewhat unusual noun 'Caesarism' and its adjective 'Caesaristic'.
In addition, 'Western High Culture' in Spenglerian vocabulary should be rendered as "die Abendländische Hochkultur" >> not " ... Westlich ..." !
