Da steht aber keine Quellenangabe dabei... Auf http://www.submarinecablemap.com/#/submarine-cable/cantat-3 steht nix von Abschaltung.

Bei http://www.cablemap.info/?c=CANTAT-3 steht "Retired 31 December 2010; Bought by Faroese Telecom and repurposed for connectivity to oil platforms".
Auf Faroese Telecom Group Annual Report and Accounts 2012: "New Sources of Revenue in the North Sea - At the beginning of 2012, Faroese Telecom took over operations of part of the Cantat-3 cable, the stretch between Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Denmark and Germany. Soon thereafter, agreements were made with Maersk Oil and Hess Denmark to provide telecommunication through the Cantat-3 cable to oil platforms in the Danish part of the North Sea. (...) The primary purpose in buying the Cantat-3 cable was to further secure Faroese telecommunication to the rest of the world."
