My German is quite bad: so excuse my intervention in English.
I-Kiribati is not the name of the language of Kiribati. I-Kiribati means exactly the people of Kiribati, in gilbertese. The local name is te taetae ni kiribati (but most people uses Gilbertese in English or Kiribati in Gilbertese). So it's a big mistake to have changed the name of this language into 'I-Kiribati.
Kiribati - Aussprache[Quelltext bearbeiten]
Im ersten Satz steht, dass "kiribati" "kiribäs" ausgesprochen wird, also "a" als "ä" (e). Weiter unten aber unter Aussprache des "ti" als "s" liest man "kiribas". Was stimmt nun? --DiCampi (Diskussion) 12:22, 19. Jan. 2022 (CET)
- Danke für den Hinweis. Das a in Kiribati oder auch Kiritimati ist ein geschlossenes a und entspricht dem IPA-Zeichen æ. Im Deutschen würde man es wohl am ehesten als ä schreiben, also Kiribäs und Kirismäs. Habe es im Artikel vereinheitlicht. --Hanzlan (Diskussion) 10:45, 10. Feb. 2022 (CET)
