David L. Kennedy ordnet Marcellus der Ala Parthorum (Cappadocia) zu. Er schreibt: As with the previous text, the absence of full titulature for the Parthian regiment and the possibly Greek-speaking origin of Marcellus at Capua, as well as his predominantly eastern service might indicate that he commanded the proposed eastern-based ala Parthorum sagittariorum. Hans-Georg Pflaum ordnet ihn ebenfalls der Ala Parthorum (Cappadocia) zu. Siehe: Hans-Georg Pflaum, S. 420.

Fazit: Marcellus wird der Ala Parthorum (Cappadocia) zugeordnet.
