Pyramid ist ein 1978 veröffentlichtes Progressive Rock-Album der britischen Band The Alan Parsons Project.
Hintergrund[Bearbeiten]
Die LP wurde zu einer Zeit konzipiert, in der das allgemeine Interesse an Pyramiden und der Pyramidenenergie sehr hoch war. Eine Pyramide war auf der Rückseite der Dollarnote abgebildet, es gab Zeitungsberichte über angebliche magische Eigenschaften von Pyramiden und das Schallplattencover des Pink Floyd-Albums The Dark Side of the Moon, bei dem Alan Parsons als Toningenieur fungierte. Dadurch enthält das Album viele Referenzen an altertümliche Wunder, so auch an die Pyramiden Ägyptens. Dies wird am deutlichsten bei den Titeln What Goes Up… und Pyramania.
