Ralph Stockman
Ralph Stockman (* 1861 in Leith; † 1946) war ein schottischer Mediziner und Pharmakologe.
Leben
Nach seinem Abschluss an der University of Edinburgh setzte er sein Studium in Wien und Straßburg fort.[1] Er lehrte und forschte in Edinburgh, erwarb seinen Doktor der Medizin und ging nach Glasgow.[1] Von 1897 bis 1937 war er Professor für Materia Medica (vgl. Regius Professor of Medicine and Therapeutics, Glasgow) und eine führende Autorität auf dem Gebiet der Pharmakologie.[1] Er leistete Grundlagenforschung in der Ätiologie der Eisenmangelanämie.[1]
