The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Reid (DD-369) accompanied by USS Mugford (DD-389) and two other American destroyers steaming slowly up the harbour at Sydney, Australia. The Mugford has SC-1 air search radar at the masthead whereas the Reid has the later SC-2. Also visible on the Reid are SG surface search and Mark 4 fire control radar antennas. Note the bulges to accommodate fuse setting machines on the sides of the Reid´s forward 5 inch/38 gun mountings. Her portside twin 40 mm Bofors AA mounting is visible aft.
