English: This is the most accurate phylogenetic tree of the elephants and mammoths as of 2010. The numbers by the T parameters are the population divergence dates given in millions of years before the present. The numbers by the N parameters are the effective population sizes given in thousands. The structure of the tree was constructed from genetic data using statistical bioinformatics techniques and then the date values were calibrated with fossil evidence.
