Ahmed Radwan is an international film and television producer/director, and Managing Director of SPHINX FILMS INT. He was born in Egypt, and is a citizen of Austria, where he has lived since 1991. He studied filmmaking in Cairo and Vienna.

Born in Egypt, Ahmed Radwan soon discovered his passion for art, and for promoting peace and understanding between people and cultures. For his activities at school, such as publishing the school newspaper and expressing himself through his art, he was able to gain admission to Cairo’s Art Academy. There, he discovered film as his preferred medium and soon moved to Vienna, Austria, to study filmmaking.

Radwans experience as a director includes the documentary, Didgeridoo, an Austrian/Australian co-production in the late 1990s, which was the beginning of his intercultural filmmaking career. He has also produced and directed numerous short films, gaining camera experience along the way. Radwan additionally participated in the making of the film Business for Pleasure, where he served in a variety of different functions, and he has previously collaborated on several European productions as well (TV Series, commercials & feature films).

Building on his film making experience and with the support of the Austrian government and Michael Wolkenstein, a partner of Bavaria Film, in 1997 Radwan founded SPHINX FILMS INT. in Vienna, Austria (with partner offices in USA, Cairo, Dubai and Marrakech). His film production company has since served as an international network for the film and television industry – in particular, for projects intended to promote the dialogue between cultures. Radwan has been able to gain important supporters for his endeavours, most notably among them the American producer Branko Lustig (Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, etc.), and he has also managed to build up a network of opinion leaders and high-profile contacts around the world. Today, his business, filmmaking and political contacts are spread across Europe, the US (e.g. New York, Florida and California) and Arab Africa and the Middle East (incl. Egypt, Morocco, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait).
