Born 1979 in Basel, Switzerland.

Early theory and composition instructions. He studied piano with Jürg Wyttenbach and composition with Rudolf Kelterborn, Roland Moser and Detlev Müller-Siemens at the Musikhochschule Basel, masterclasses with Pierre-Laurent Aimard (Piano), Helmut Lachenmann, Klaus Huber and Beat Furrer (Composition).

1999 and 2007 Centre ACANTHES (FR) 2000 and 2002 Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik (D) 2009 Resident-Student at OSTRAVA Days for New Music (CZ) 2011 IMPULS Composer Academy for Contemporary Music (AU)

Preformances in Europe, USA, Asia (Goethe-Institut) and Australia.

He won the Gerarer-Orchesterpreis in 2003 and the Stuttgarter-Orchesterwerkstatt Prize (SWR) in 2006. With the recommendation of Peter Eötvös, he was invited to live in the Herrenhaus Edenkoben(Germany) in 2008.

His works were preformed by Ensemble Phoenix Basel, Opera Nova Ensemble Zurich, Glass Farm Ensemble New York, Ensemble Interface Frankfurt, SWR Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart, as well as Sylvia Nopper (Soprano), Christian Dierstein (Percussion), Eduard Brunner (Clarinet), Walter Grimmer (Cello) and Yukiko Sugawara (Piano).

He cofounded CHAOTIC MOEBIUS a platform for New and Experimental Music and is member ot the board at ISCM Basel.
