Maria Hengge is an actress and a filmmaker in Germany. She was born March 22nd 1970 in Chicago, IL, USA and grew up in Germany. After studying acting at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna, she worked as an actress and a member of the Ensemble at the Viennese Burgtheater with directors like Luc Bondy, Klaus Michael Grüber, Klaus Maria Brandauer, James Macdonald. After 5 years she decided to work freelance and independently. She realized some theater projects on her own and participated in movies and TV films with directors like Thomas Arslan, Jo Baier, Uli Edel, Jules Herrmann, Philip Koch, Felix Ahrens. In 2008 she realized her first short film THE LAST BUS, a poetic story filmed on the coast of Portugal. In 2015 she realized her first feature SIN & ILLY STILL ALIVE, a story about two drug addicted girls, who try to get clean on their own.
