- Intelligence is the ability to achieve goals
- intelligence as the ability to have a conversation
- varying kinds and degrees of intelligence occur in people, many animals and some machines
- there is no solid definition of intelligence that doesn't depend on relating it to human intelligence
- we understand some of the mechanisms of intelligence and not others
Artificial Intelligence, Portal artificial intelligence[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]
- the ability to reason, represent knowledge, plan, learn, communicate, perceive, move and manipulate objects
- we cannot characterize in general what kinds of computational procedures we want to call intelligent
- artificial intelligence needs CPU power
- artificial intelligence needs energy - but we can offset the energy trend as we make appliances intelligent
- if you define artificial intelligence as a self-aware, self-learning, mobile system, then artificial intelligence is a huge disappointment (at least up to 2008-08-25)
- artificial intelligence is embedded in our everyday lives, but we do not have full-functioning robots for everything in our every-day life (at least up to 2008-08-25)
- artificial intelligence you can find in many places, e.g.:
- internet search (search engine)
- write an address on an envelope that the post office sorts automatically
- grammar check by Microsoft Word
