Die Cass Library of African Studies (etwa: Cass-Bibliothek von Afrika-Studien) ist eine bei Frank Cass und später bei Routledge erschienene und nach Cass benannte Sammlung von Reprint-Ausgaben von Afrika-Studien. Es handelt sich um eine Art Versuch einer Gesamt(rück)schau auf Afrika, größtenteils um anerkannte Monographien usw., worunter sich viele Klassiker der Afrikawissenschaften befinden.

Kurzeinführung

Die sehr umfassende und inhaltsreiche Reihe ist untergliedert in verschiedene Unterreihen: General studies, African prehistory, Library of African law, South African studies, African languages, Travels and narratives, Missionary researches and travels, Africana modern library, Slavery series (Allgemeine Studien, Afrikanische Vorgeschichte, Bibliothek des afrikanischen Rechts, Südafrikanische Studien, Afrikanische Sprachen, Reisen und Erzählungen, Missionarische Forschungen und Reisen, Moderne Bibliothek Africana, Sklaverei-Reihe).

Die Reihe erschien seit den 1960er Jahren bis in die 1970er Jahre in London bei Frank Cass, sie starteten zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten: die Unterreihe African prehistory (Afrikanische Vorgeschichte) beispielsweise 1971.

Der Schwerpunkt der folgenden Übersicht liegt auf der Darstellung der in der Reihe erschienen Titel. Die Bände der einzelnen Unterreihen sind alphabetisch nach den Verfassern (bzw. Titelanfang) angeordnet, d. h. nicht nach den ihnen zugewiesenen Nummern innerhalb dieser Unterreihen. Die folgende Übersicht nach den verschiedenen Unterreihen (und darunter dann idealerweise alphabetisch nach Verfassern (bzw. Titelanfängen) – d. h. nicht nach den einzelnen Nummern der Reihe – usw.) erhebt keinen Anspruch auf Aktualität oder Vollständigkeit:
