My last name is Brann... i have been trying to make a connection with the Celtic Brann and the Norse Brann... Often i have read that the Norse would embed themselves within the culture they were doing business with...

In Old Norse Brann= Fire, Burn... Brandy= Burnt Wine In Celtic Brann= Raven... or i like to consider a burnt bird? The raven is Black like it has been burnt?

There is a Bay in Sweden Brännöviken... translated from Swedish to English... "Burn the bay" https://mapcarta.com/17552008

The Island just off the bay is called Brännögrundet translated from Swedish to English "Burn the island foundation" https://mapcarta.com/17551998

Is it possible the Norse group that lived in this area migrated back and forth from Sweden to Normandy for trade?
