Steven Curtis Chapman (* 21. November 1962 in Paducah, Kentucky) gehört zu den bekanntesten Pop- und Rockmusikern der christlichen Musikszene. Er hat fünf Grammy Awards und mehr Dove Awards als jeder andere Künstler gewonnen. Außerdem haben sieben seiner Alben in den USA Gold-Status (über 500.000 verkaufte Exemplare), zwei erreichten sogar Platin (über 1.000.000 verkaufte Exemplare).

Am 21. Mai 2008 verloren Steven Curtis Chapman und seine Frau Mary-Beth ihre fünfjährige Tochter Maria Sue durch einen Unfall.[2]
