Hello,

while I was surfing at the wikipedia-site I found this map of the so-called "Third World". I have to intervene here because I think this map is highly delusive. What we see here is a simplified world map where simply everything apart from north america (excluding Mexico), a very individual interpretation of europe, japan, australia, New Zealand, Bahamas, French Guyana and New Caledonia is red. The countries in red are supposed to mark the third world (if I interprete this map right). That means: a) Lets compare this classification with the UN-Human Development Index 2003. There we have: Israel (22, HDI-Worldrank) Hong Kong (26) does not appear on your map Barbados (27), does not appear Singapore (28), does not appear South Korea (30) Brunei (31) Argentinien (34) Seychelles (36), does not appear Uruguay (40) Costa Rica (42) Chile (43) Qatar (44) Kuwait (46) United Arab Emirates (48) Saint Kitts and Nevis (51), does not appear Cuba (52) Trinidad and Tobago (54) Mexico (55) According to this, these countris are all part of the richest FIRST THIRD of the world countries. Why do you call them "third world" then?

b) Viceverse: Lets look at the poorer second two-third of all the countries. There we have: Bulgaria (57) Macedonia (60) Russian Federation (63) Bosnia and Herzegovina (66) Romania (72) Ukraine (75) Albania (95) Cape Verde, missing Moldova (108)

You call these countries FIRST WORLD?

c) You want to show countries on your map but some you dont mention. And the criteria if a country is listed or not is not transparent to me! Why do you show countries like Andorra or the Vatican but economic and demographic much more important countries like Singapore or Hong Kong do not even appear?

d) Territories like Taiwan and Tokelau (NZ) are third world in your map. I definetly doubt that even though there are not listed in the HDI-Ranking!

e) You are trying to show the third world on your map, but there are only countries in red and in grey, that makes only two...where is the third part???

f) As you may have noticed I dont like the term "third world" at all. I am not sure how far you are informed about the origins of that term but I dont think it is appropiate any more. "Third World" is an expression of the fifties and how do you explain the fact that today Mexico and South Korea are members of the OECD? I would prefer "developing countries" which is still misleading but better than "third world" in my opinion.

g) You dont consider the fact that there are enormous differences inside the countries with richer "first world" regions and poorer "Third world regions".

Please remove this map or only publish it together with this critics. It is totally useless for any educational purposes because: a) it is apparently not based on any LOGIC or SISTEMATIC methodology b) it is highly selective c) it is intransparent because you dont get to know the criteria of this classification d) it is suggestive because it gives the impression of a rich north and a poor south (apart from Australia and New Zealand) which is not only false but still distorting our political perception and is unconsciously appraising global differences.

well, thank you for your comments. I did not wrote the article, I even did not changed anything, except the map, and ONLY the map. I only exchanged the former map (which was not under GNU licence) with a map which indeed is now. I did NOT coloured the map different from the former one. Is this clear now?

So please use your knowledge to remove/change this map and replace it with your :-), it is not difficult to do this. Thank you.

Bild:SBB RABe 514.jpg und Bild:Hauptsitz swisslife.jpg

Ich möchte dich darüber informieren, dass ich für Bild:SBB RABe 514.jpg einen Löschantrag gestellt habe, da die angegebene Lizenz ("...Die Verwendung des Bildmaterials zu weiteren Zwecken (Werbung und andere kommerzielle Nutzung) ist kostenpflichtig und bedarf der Zustimmung der SBB als Inhaberin der Urheberrechte....") nicht Wikipedia-Konform ist. Die Wikipedia erlaubt ausdrücklich auch die kommerzielle Nutzung. Beim Bild:Hauptsitz swisslife.jpg wird die kommerzielle Nutzung durch den Urheber (Swisslife oder der Fotograf) wohl auch kaum erlaubt sein. Gruss --David 00:05, 7. Apr 2006 (CEST)

Hallo David,

danke für den Hinweis. Das war mir nicht bewusst, dass selbst mit Angabe des Copyrights und der Erlaubnis des Inhabers die Verwendung von Bildern nicht Wikipedia-Konform ist. Das Swiss Life Bild habe ich jetzt mit dem wirklichen Logo ersetzt, damit ist dieser Löschantrag hinfällig. Das Bild für die RABe 514 muss dann wohl leider gelöscht werden.

Hallo MrNett, das erste Bild habe ich gelöscht. Das zweite Bild wurde komischerweise wieder auf das Foto zurückgesetzt. Bitte ließ dir mal Wikipedia:Bildrechte und Wikipedia:Lizenzierung für Anfänger durch, damit du sicher bist, dass das Logo auch wirklich hierein gehört. Wenn nicht ganz du ganz leicht mit {{löschen}} Begründung --~~~~ eine Löschung erzwingen. Letzteres ermöglicht übrigens auch automatisches Unterzeichnen von Diskussionsbeiträge, so wie hier: --Flominator 21:56, 7. Apr 2006 (CEST) PS: Wenn das Bild dann ordentlich lizenziert ist, darfst du es auch wieder in den Artikel einbauen ;)

Laut Wikipedia:FAQ_Rechtliches steht unter anderem: "Sehr einfach gestaltete Firmenlogos sind allerdings mangels Schöpfungshöhe nicht urheberrechtlich geschützt." So wie das formuliert ist gehört dann wohl dieses Logo nicht dazu und ich muss eine Erlaubnis von der Firma einholen, oder? Danke für den --~~~~ Typ! --Mrnett1974 23:20, 10. Apr 2006 (CEST)

Benutzer sperren

Kannst du mal bitte ne Seite sperren die hier: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fu%C3%9Fball-Weltmeisterschaft_2006/Polen

heute schon wieder Vandalismus und ich denke mal das wird auch bis zur WM nicht anders glaube eher das das dann richtig los geht also würde ich vorschlagen Costa Rica und Equador auch mal vorsorglich sperren oder? Gruss Justus22 17:55, 5. Jun 2006 (CEST)
