Oliver Rauhut

Oliver W. M. Rauhut (* 1969) ist ein deutscher Wirbeltierpaläontologe.

Oliver Rauhut arbeitet derzeit als Kustos für Niedere Wirbeltiere an der Bayerischen Staatssammlung für Paläontologie und Geologie in München.

Sein Spezialgebiet ist die Evolution der Dinosaurier und der mesozoischen Landwirbeltiere generell. Rauhut hat bisher verschiedene Dinosaurier beschrieben, darunter die Theropoden Aviatyrannis, Condorraptor, Suchomimus (als Co-Autor von Paul Sereno und anderen) und Xinjiangovenator (mit Xu Xing) und den Sauropoden Brachytrachelopan (mit Kristian Remes, Regina Fechner, Gerardo Cladera und Pablo Puerta). Daneben beschrieb er das erste jurassische Säugetier Südamerikas, Asfaltomylos (mit T. Martin, Edgardo Ortíz-Jaureguizar und Pablo Puerta).
