Eine verwandte Art ist die stammbildende Baum-Hasel (Corylus colurna), auch Türkische Hasel genannt. Es ist ein bis 20 m hoch werdender Baum, der eine steile, pyramidenförmige Krone bildet und auch als Straßenbegleitgrün gepflanzt wird.
