Meinst du ein Link auf die Proceedings ? Die sind alle hier ICM (Seoul fehlt noch, wird aber wohl spätestens bei der nächsten ICM vorliegen), direkte Links auf ein pdf setze ich ungern, da dies zu Server-Überlastung auf der betreffenden Seite führen kann (die dann ihren Service einschränkt).--Claude J (Diskussion) 08:48, 29. Ich dachte ursprünglich, dass es zu jeder Konferenz eine eigene Wiki-Seite gibt, in der Tagungsort, Vortragende, Themen und links auf die Proceedings sowie Besonderheiten dargestellt sind. Nur dann wäre ein solcher Link sinnvoll. --Skraemer (Diskussion) 16:34, 30. Sep. 2015 (CEST)

en:User:Solomon7968, von dem die Liste ursprünglich stammt, muss die Vortragsbände durchgegangen sein, eine ziemliche Arbeit (hätte ich nicht gemacht, hat mich schon einen Tag gekostet, sie allein an die deutsche wikipedia halbwegs anzupassen und stichprobenhaft zu überprüfen), wobei die Liste immer noch bei einigen Jahrgängen unvollständig ist (die wichtigsten Beteiligten sind aber drin). Es ist jetzt auch nicht so, dass alle gleichermaßen relevant wären, die Schranken für die Beteiligung waren vor 1950 deutlich niedriger.--Claude J (Diskussion) 23:18, 30. Sep. 2015 (CEST)

Claude, I noticed that you recently updated this list with the names of the 2018 ICM speakers. But what is the source for this (you could have done better by mentioning the source in the edit summary)? The ICM official database seems not to have gone updated and Google only gives some blog and Facebook links which are (unfortunately) unreliable for this.

Also the English article (the source for this version) was updated later to convert it into a bullet list with some motivation (Hilbert, Grothendieck etc.). If there is consensus here not to go by columns (I noticed Liste der Fellows der Association for Computing Machinery is just a plain long list) then I have nothing to say but motivation (along with pictures) seems fine with any language version. The source is ICM 2018, for the speakers in the subsections click on the subchapters. The "optics" in the updated english list looks definitely better, perhaps I (or someone else) adopt this also. Is there any way to contact the ICM folks to correct this (assuming this is the only missing slot) and link our article from their official database? It will certainly be beneficial to both entities, even MacTutor don't have biographies for all the plenary speakers (let alone invited speakers). Reinhard Siegmund-Schultze

I have been contributing to mathematics articles in (English) Wikiquote and I wonder if you (Claude) can manage to get hold of Reinhard Siegmund-Schultze's book Mathematicians Fleeing from Nazi Germany so that we (you) can start its Wikiquote article. Specifically I wonder if there is a quote where Schultze lists all (145 who emigrated + 17 who were murdered + probably incomplete list of 71 persecuted in other ways) the mathematicians listed in the books divided by States of Germany. Basically I am looking for a quote along the lines of Michael Harris. Even if there is no such quote creating their biographies who have been ICM speakers seems to be a priority. Solomon

The States of India are roughly divided along linguistic lines which makes it easier for a non-Indian to make sense which state is where. However for Germany where all states speak German I don't think you can make much sense of the uniqueness for every state unless you have spent time in Germany. I am the principal author of almost every en:q:Category:States of India and the article en:q:Languages of India and to fulfill my personal curiosity I want the same for German states. Basically I want quotes for all the 16 states along the lines "xyz mathematician emigrated/was murdered/persecuted in Bavaria". Any particular reason you haven't created a permanent list of it? en:Timeline of chemistry is FA and I see that you have the topic in your sandbox; can't you just translate it from en? If you are interested in creating similar timeline articles, say that of statistics, this article by Anirban DasGupta (much more informative than any book by Stephen Stigler) would be of help. 11:51, 24. Thank you, but these are working lists, my main interest are their usefulness for new biographies in the german wikipedia. 1950

Eine ganze Reihe der Einträge für 1950 waren keine adresses (states adresses, adresses in conference sections), die im ersten Band des Konferenzberichts gelistet wurden (Inhaltsverzeichnis am Ende). Es gibt in jedem ICM-Konferenzband Kurzbeiträge, deren Autoren hier aber nicht gelistet werden.
