Also ich finde den Artikel extrem kurz und wenig informativ. Gerade über so eine umstrittene Band wie Gorgoroth kann man doch mehr schreiben. Ich bin großer Gorgoroth Fan und finde das es noch mehr Informationen gibt die man hier reinschreiben sollte, auch ihre Straftaten.Es steht ja nur drin das sie eine alte BM-Band sind und sie anscheinend einen an der Waffel haben (was sie auch haben). Das ist nicht gerade Informativ. KerryKing

Stimmt, die meisten dieser Straftaten sind hier ja auch irrelevant. Daß Gaahl etwa einen Menschen gefoltert hat, mag da eine Ausnahme darstellen und erwähnenswert sein. Ich habe nie gesagt das man jede einzelne Straftat aufzählen soll und weitere Informationen habe ich nicht (hab auch nicht gesagt ich hätte welche, es war eine Vermutung), sonst hätte ich sie hinzugefügt (obwohl sie warscheinlich gelöscht worden wären). Das mit den Infos war an Leute gerichtet die noch welche haben und sie hinzufügen könnten. KerryKing

  • „Gorgoroth wird häufig als ‚Possessed Norwegian Black Metal‘ bezeichnet“ – Das ist kindisches Werbesprech, wie es nur in einem Mailorder-Katalog oder schlechten Rezensionstexten zu finden ist; in einem seriösen Enzyklopädie-Artikel muß sowas ganz gewiß keine Erwähnung finden.
  • „Der Werdegang der Band ist von einigen Stilwechseln […] sowie von kriminellen Machenschaften geprägt“ – Nonsens. Von welchen „kriminellen Machenschaften“ ist hier die Rede? Inwiefern sind die Probleme einzelner Musiker mit dem Gesetz von nennenswerter Relevanz für den Werdegang der Band?
  • „2005 nach seiner Tour geht Gaahl ins Gefängnis[,] weil er seine blutigen Rituale an einer oder auch schon mehreren Personen ausgeführt hat.“ – Blutige Rituale? Wer hat hier geschrieben, die Gebrüder Grandt?

Ich finde die Kuerzungen nicht gut. Der Artikel hier "http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gorgoroth&oldid=12302391" war um einiges informativer. Gerade die Krakau-Geschichte ist schon irgendwie ein interessanter, prägender Teil, den Gorgoroth einzigartig macht. (nicht signierter Beitrag von 84.190.79.183 (Diskussion) )

Inwiefern macht das Gorgoroth „einzigartig“? Mit Blut und aufgespießten Schweinsköpfen konnte man in Wahrheit schon vor fünfzehn Jahren niemanden mehr hinter dem Ofen hervorlocken. In Krakau wurde nichts geboten, was nicht schon tausendmal da gewesen wäre, durchaus auch schon in extremerer Form. Myspace dient nicht der Information, sondern mehr der Kommunikation. Da Wikipedia ein Lexikon und keine Linkliste ist, werden nur Weblinks gewünscht, die die Informationen des Artikels ergänzen. also ich finde das man nicht wirklich behaupten kann die myspace-präsenz von musikern wäre unwichtig. myspace ist für millionen von leuten die quelle erster wahl wenn sie hören wollen wie eine band wirklich klingt. wesentlich effektiver als wenn man hier den stil beschreibt. die kommunikation mit der band ist da eher zweitrangig. wo kann man sich schon von quasi jeder band einen überblick über ihre musikalische entwicklung machen? für jeden der sich für musik interessiert wird das relevant sein. würde es sich um das myspace-profil von barack obama handeln würde ich dir recht geben. Es gibt zudem Bands die Myspace als Alternative zur üblichen Homepage nutzen.

Wenn Myspace nicht der Information dient, weshalb finde ich da dann soviel davon und vorallem weshalb nutze ich es dann dafür? Ist dir der Sinn eines Myspace-Profils eigentlich begreiflich?

Auf der Myspace-Seite von Emperor sind ja sogar die Komponenten des Jackson Signaturmodels von Ihsahn aufgelistet! Oder wusstest du, Blah, das Emperor mit "Thus Spake The Nightspirit" einen Soundtrack beitrag zum PlayStation 3 Titel BRÜTAL LEGEND geleistet haben. Ich bin beeindruckt von dieser Fülle an.... aber nein dafür dient es ja nicht.

Infos Emperor

Eventually there comes a time when the hype about a band becomes superfluous, and their status alone speaks volumes. Such is the case with Emperor, the black metal gods hailing from Telemark, Norway. Emperor has become known as one of the originators of symphonic Black Metal that Norway is internationally renowned for. Often described as the greatest and most unique modern black metal act of all time, Emperor has sold hundred of thousands albums worldwide. Their cult album "In the Nightside Eclipse" has been ranked among albums like Slayers "Reign in Blood" and Venoms "Black Metal" as a definitive masterpiece of our time.

Beginning life as a trio in the spring of '91 with Samoth (drums), Ihsahn (guitar/vocals) and Mortiis (bass), the band quickly recorded and circulated the now legendary "Wrath of the Tyrant" demo. It was this demo that brought them to the attention of the then still-fledgling Candlelight record label. A deal was inked, Samoth moved to guitar and Bard Faust was recruited for the now vacant drum stool. By the end of 1992, the band had recorded their half of the "Emperor / Enslaved" split CD which surfaced early the following year. Mortiis departed, and was later replaced by Tchort.

The press response was justifiably excellent and by the summer of '93 Emperor were recording once more, this time working on their debut full-length album "In the Nightside Eclipse". By the time of the albums release in 1994 they had become without a doubt one of the most important bands in the genre, gathering worldwide critical acclaim and a rabid fan base to match.

In autumn of '93 a series of headline-grabbing events took place, which lead to turbulence within the scene, causing Emperor to suffer some instability within the bands line-up. Despite these events, the entity of Emperor would come out even stronger in the end. Eventually a new permanent line-up was announced. Alver had replaced Tchort on bass, and Trym (ex. Enslaved) had replaced Faust on drums. The bones of what would become their most epic and majestic material to date were taking shape.

By the end of '96, now fully prepared and rehearsed, they went back into the studio. First the "Reverence" EP announced their return to the fold, followed up in early '97 with what is without doubt one of the most ambitious and important black metal releases to date..."Anthems To The Welkin At Dusk, an album of epic savagery! Not only beautiful, but bestial in it's wide ranging scope. The press agreed. Not only was "Anthems.." featured in almost every "album of the year poll" across the globe, but actually won the album of the year in both Terrorizer (UK) and Metal Maniacs (USA).

Since the release of the genre defining "Anthems.... " album, things were active in the Emperor camp. Following a couple of tours in 1997, and appearances at Dynamo and Milwaukee Metalfest in1998, the band announced that bass player Alver would be leaving. As a result of this, Ihsahn handled all bass duties on the upcoming "IX Equilibrium" album.

IX Equilibrium was their single most breathtaking vision to date. Surpassing even the mighty "Anthems..." for its sheer scope of diversity, the album utilized elements from their traditional metal roots, operatic vocals and of course their trademark symphonic soundscape.

With the success of "IX Equilibrium", Emperor set out to conquer new territories as a touring band. They toured Europe as special guests for Morbid Angel, headlined the US on their 1999s "Kings of Terror" tour, and also appeared at various festivals. During this period Emperor recorded the live album and full-length DVD, "Emperial Live Ceremony", which to this day stand as a strong testimony to Emperors mighty live performance.

In 2001 Emperor released what was to become their swansong, "Prometheus the Discipline of Fire & Demise." An epic and progressive metal album that once and for all marked Emperor as one of the most adventurous and gifted Black Metal band of all times. With the release of "Prometheus" the band also announced their departure as an active band. "The Emperor is dead, long live the Emperor" roamed the metal world. However, the legacy of Emperor was held high by their loyal fan base, and since the bands departure, their credibility has only grown stronger. In 2003, the "best-of" double album "Scattered Ashes A Decade of Emperial Wrath" was released, and celebrated many of the fine moments of Emperors career.

In 2005, Emperor took the metal world by storm at a surprise show in Oslo when they announced that they were reforming for a few selected reunion shows. In 2006 Emperor will headline Norways Inferno Festival, Germanys Wacken Open-air, and 4 exclusive shows in NYC and LA. Beyond that, the future, as ever, is a mystery waiting to be unravelled

Over the years, Ihsahn’s guitar-collection has grown considerably, especially since he started working with Ibanez, and space is becoming an issue. His old Esp is already on it’s way to the Rockheim museum in Trondheim and now we’ve decided to auction the trusted Jackson DK1.

This Jackson Dinky has served as one of Ihsahn's main guitars for over a decade both in the studio and on the road. EMPEROR's Live Inferno Confirmed For Worldwide Release

Candlelight Records confirms the completion of the final recordings from black metal legends Emperor. Titled Live Inferno, the special live series features various releases recorded/filmed during the band’s sold out 2005-2007 reunion performances. Several formats will be available including a 2cd/slip case with 16-page booklet, a limited edition box featuring 2 cds & DVD with an enhanced 24 page booklet, a single dvd, and two limited edition double-vinyl gatefold sets. April 16 is set as the European release date for the series with April 21 set as the North American release date.

The audio aspect of the Live Inferno series features exclusive recordings from the band’s headlining performances at Norway’s Inferno Festival and Germany’s Wacken Open Air Festival. Each recording will be pressed as individual double-vinyl sets; the first pressing limited to 1000 on black vinyl with any additional pressings in varied colours selected by the band. A special gold-vinyl seven-inch limited to 2000 titled Thus Spake the Nightspirit (featuring a live rendition of the band’s famed song from the album Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk with a live recording of “Inno A Satana” from the album band’s popular In the Nightside Eclipse album on the b-side) will be pressed and released via the label’s official webstores beginning February 16.

METALKULT in Norway, videos available

MetalKult.com has just posted a Norwegian metal mini-documentary.

The footage was captured over four days in March 2008 when MetalKult editors Brad Angle and Jimmy Hubbard traveled to Oslo, Norway.

In episode two, MetalKult travel into the mountainous Telemark County to Notodden, where they visit with EMPEROR vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn at his Symphonique Studios.

In this exclusive footage, Ihsahn gives MetalKult's cameras a private tour of the gear he used to create his latest solo album, "angL" (Candlelight/Mnemosyne).

In episode three, MetalKult explores the rural town of Notodden, where it visits with ZYKLON/ex-EMPEROR drummer Trym at his Emperial Tattoo parlor.

Ich habe die Information über das Label von Gorgoroth geändert weil, auf meiner Platte "Twilligth of the idols" steht das sie ihr Label in Deutschland beim Nuclear Blast haben.


gorgoroth sind schon lange nicht mehr bei nuclear blast, im moment verklagen sie gerade ihr aktuelles label regain records. twilight of the idols ist ein altes album, sie sind bei nuclear rausgeflogen weil ein paar mitarbeiter probleme mit gaahl hatten (bzw. mit seiner einstellung) Into the void08 20:14, 25. Kann mal ein Auskenner versuchen, die Neutralität in den Abschnitten „Konflikt mit der Justiz“ und „Ideologie“ herzustellen? „Attackiert“ und „denunziert“ ist POV, ebenso der Vorwurf der überspitzen Darstellung. Man kann die Fakten sachlich darstellen, aber bitte nicht herunterspielen. Selbiges gilt für den Absatz „Ideologie“. The Swedish appeal courts (Hovretten in Malmö) have upheld the earlier decision by authorities at Tingretten in the matter regarding Regain Records unauthorized release of "Gorgoroth - True Norwegian Black Metal - Live in Grieghallen".

Regain Records has been found in violation of copyrights and agreements made with Gaahl and King and is ordered to cease distribution of this release.

es fehlt die trennung von nuclear blast (die das resultat von problemen war, die einige mitarbeiter mit gaahl hatten - ich weis nur nicht mehr, wo ich das gelesen habe) bzw. der wechsel zu regain records (am anfang wird nuclear blast genannt, am schluss aber regain). wenn jemand quellen/datum dazu findet, bitte ändern!

außerdem: findet es jemand (ausser mir) erwähnenswert, dass bzw. warum die band jede veröffentlichung von tabs/texten ihrer musik verbietet und strafrechtlich verfolgt?

Ich weiß die band hat angekündigt das Hellhammer mit eingestiegen ist, aber er wird auf der Homepage nicht aufgeführt, spielt live nicht mit und wird auch bei den Aufnahmen zum neuen Album nicht dabei sein. Nach dem verlorenen Rechtsstreit heißen Gorgoroth seit 10. März 2009 bekanntlich God Seed - sollte man den Artikel nicht dahingehend abändern in der Einleitung (zB Good Seed - früher bekannt als Gorgoroth - oder ähnlich...)? achso? Hm hab die Berichte darüber nicht so genau verfolgt, aber kanns mir kaum vorstellen. Gorgoroth IST Ghaal, was macht Infernus jetzt mit Gorgoroth? Eine neue Band um den Namen aufbauen? Für mich was die ganze Aktion mehr eine "so, ihr wolltet mich nicht mehr, jetzt mach ich euch das Leben schwer"-Aktion seitens Infernus...kann mich aber auch total irren. Infernus ist Gründungsmitglied, im Gegensatz zu Ghaal, der erst sechs Jahre nach Gründung dazukam, und dessen Songwriting-Beteiligung im Vergleich zu der von Infernus minimal ist. Das hat auch das Gericht so gesehen und damit Infernus die Rechte zugesprochen, der bereits neue Mitglieder für die Band hat, wie man auch in der Infobox bei den aktuellen Mitgliedern sieht. Nur weil wer singt und bei Konzerten vorne steht, ist er nicht die Band (außer natürlich, man hat nur die letzten paar Jahre mitgekriegt), da gehört erheblich mehr dazu. -- Cecil 15:49, 17. alles klar, komm auch aus der Death-Ecke - habs nur beiläufig mitbekommen. Nach nach außen sah es immer danach aus, als wäre Gorgoroth = Gaahl. Durch den Rechtsstreit bei Gorgoroth und das Medieninteresse an Gaahl dürfte die Band ab der ersten Veröffentlichung relevant sein, dann darf es auch einen eigenen God-Seed-Artikel geben, wird es auch.
