Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force

Der Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force (VCSAF; dt. etwa: stellvertretender Generalstabschef der US Air Force) ist der erste Berater und Assistent des Chief of Staff of the Air Force (CSAF). Er kümmert sich um das Tagesgeschäft im Hauptquartier der US Air Force und dem Air Staff, sodass der CSAF frei für die teilstreitkräfte-übergreifende Arbeit bei den Joint Chiefs of Staff ist. Zudem kann er als amtierender CSAF arbeiten, wenn der eigentliche CSAF unpässlich ist.

Die Dienststellung des VCSAF setzt den Dienstgrad eines Generals und die Zustimmung des US-Senats voraus.
