Jade Thirlwall[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Jade Amelia Thirlwall (born 26 December 1992) is an English singer and songwriter and member of the girl group Little Mix under RCA UK[1].

Personal life[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Jade Amelia Thirlwall was born in South Shields, Tyne and Wear, and has one-quarter Egyptian ancestry and one-quarter Yemeni ancestry. Jade grew up with her parents Norma and Jimmy and her big brother Karl, who she idolized. In school Thirlwall got bullied a lot because of being mixed race. This was the first time she ever experienced racism and prejudice. In the groups book “Our World” [2]the singer revealed that at the age of 13 she got Anorexia nervosa. The bullying and the death of her grandfather she was very close to, caused the disease. A couple of years later she started going to a clinic for eating disorders and the doctors said to her “You’re destroying your body and if you keep doing this you will die[3]”. From this moment she realised the situation and began to make a change. Before she went to X-Factor in 2011 she fully recovered from the eating disorder.

Since Jade is a child she is a big fan of Diana Ross and as a kid she always thought that her mum was Diana Ross. Furthermore Thirlwall is a supporter of the LGBT community and walked for the campaign stonewall to raise awareness for LGBT rights. In early 2019 the Little Mix singer climbed with her band mate Leigh-Anne Pinnock Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief. In the same year Jade endorsed the Labour Party for the 2019 UK general election. In addition to that Jade Thirlwall is not only a singer but also a business woman. She has her own bar called “Red Door South Shields” which is now called “Arbeia South Shields”. Besides that she also announced the opening of her new nightclub “Industry”, which will launch on March 27, 2020.

She dated The Struts member Jed Elliott, from September 2015 to July 2019.

Career[Bearbeiten | Quelltext bearbeiten]

Jade Thirlwall always loved singing and performing and that already at the age of 6. She wanted to follow the steps of her idol Diana Ross and become a Superstar. At the age of 16 the artist began performing in pubs and clubs and is now a well known singer who performs live on stage to thousands. In 2008 an 2010 Jade auditioned for the singing competition “The X-Factor[4]”, but got eliminated at the bootcamp stage. However the Shout Out To My Ex[5] singer didn’t lose hope and auditioned once again in 2011. This time she couldn’t impress the judges with her solo performance so she was put together with her present-day bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock and another girl in a group called “Orion”. This constellation didn’t work so Kelly Rowland decided to put Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and two other girls called Perrie Edwards and Jesy Nelson in a group called “Rhythmix”. The four girls were a dream team and won the competition with its changed name “Little Mix”. Still today the girl group is together and represent girl power and body positivity. LM had a lot of achievements among five albums, two Brit awards[6], three MTV Europe Music Awards[7] , several other awards and are the biggest selling girl group of all time. As of August 2018, the group has achieved four platinum certified albums and sixteen certified singles in the UK. In 2019 Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock signed to TwentySeven[8] as published official songwriters.
