Altschewsk (ukrainisch Алчевськ; russisch Алчевск) ist eine Stadt in der Oblast Luhansk in der Ukraine. Die Stadt hat 116.954 Einwohner (2005) und ist ein bedeutendes Zentrum der Metallurgie (2 Kombinate).
Eine Arbeitersiedlung wurde 1895 neben der Eisenbahnstation Jurjewka durch Unternehmer Oleksij Altschewskij gegründet. 1901 wurden die Station und die Siedlung zum Ehren des auf tragische Weise verstorbenen Unternehmers in Altschewsk umbenannt. 1932 wurde sie zur Stadt. 1931-1961 hieß die Stadt Woroschilowsk und 1961-1991 Kommunarsk.
