Der Ditmar Award ist ein australischer Literaturpreis, der seit 1969 für Werke aus den Bereichen Science-Fiction, Fantasy und Horror verliehen wird. Er gilt als der renommierteste australische Preis in diesen Genres. Er wird jährlich bei der Australian National Science Fiction Convention (NatCon) verliehen.

Der Name des gelegentlich auch Australian Science Fiction Achievement Award genannten Preises geht auf den SF-Fan und -Künstler Dick Jenssen zurück, der 1982 erklärte, er würde den Preis finanzieren, wenn er „Ditmar Award“ genannt würde. Auf die Frage, was denn ein „Ditmar“ sei, soll er geantwortet haben, das stünde für „Digital Integrating and Tabulating Mechanism for the Advancement of Research“. Tatsächlich ist Ditmar einer der Vornamen von Jenssen.[1]

Seit 1976 wird für Besprechungen und kritische Arbeiten der William Atheling Jr. Award verliehen.
